Recent changes to your Libris Portal

Overview

  • Recently, we made changes to the Galleries page of all Libris Portals
    • It features your Galleries tree on the left, a collection/gallery thumbnail view or single file view in the center, and info about the content you’re viewing on the right
    • Both the left and right panes can be collapsed to make more room for the content you’re viewing in the center pane

  • We've recently unified the browsing experience for non-public collections and galleries too
    • Portal visitors are now able to log in and access non-public content easily on the main Galleries page
  • Every Portal visitor now has a streamlined experience, no matter what type of content they’re viewing

What is different?

Logging into invite-only & password-protected collections/galleries

  • When you send an email invite to an Invited User for an invite-only or password-protected collection or gallery, they are now able to log in and view the content on the main Galleries page, just like they do with other galleries

Above: an Invited User receives an email invite to an invite-only collection, clicks the URL, and logs into the Portal to view the collection in their Invited Galleries on the main Galleries page

Using collection, gallery, and file links

  • If you copy the link for a collection, gallery, or file from your Library Right Pane and send it to an Invited User, it will also take them to the main Galleries page
    • Your users won’t have to change their existing bookmarks: URLs for the previous collection, gallery, and single file pages will redirect automatically to the new pages

Viewing empty collections & galleries

  • There are design improvements for empty collections and galleries, so that Invited Users understand where to look for content
