As an Admin or Editor, you have the capability to configure your PhotoShelter for Brands account to support a real-time wireless FTP upload workflow. The majority of the work is done by the Admin or Editor before the live event, ensuring everything is properly set up in the PhotoShelter for Brands Library, the upload method of choice has been reviewed with the Contributor prior to the main event, and everyone involved knows their role.
When setting up a real-time workflow, it's important to consider the "who" (who is uploading files?) "how" (what upload method are they using?) and "where" (where do I want their files to land in my PhotoShelter for Brands account?)
1. Add your photographer(s) as Library Staff to your PhotoShelter for Brands account under Admin > Library Staff
- Editors have full backend access to manage your entire media Library.
- Additional Editor seats can be purchased for your PhotoShelter for Brands subscription for a fee - contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
- Contributors have permission to upload (only) into your Library.

2. Create a new empty Gallery in your Library
- This Gallery is the destination your Editor or Contributor will be sending their files to during the real-time event.
- This Gallery could be at the root level (called “Library”), or, nested inside of a Collection as part of your Library’s existing organizational structure.
- Remember the name of the Gallery you’ve created because you’ll need it in the next step.

3. Add a new Incoming FTP user by navigating to Media > Upload Methods and clicking “Add a new Incoming FTP user”
- Set the Gallery you just created as the Destination the user will upload into.
- Copy the Incoming FTP username, password, server (ftp.photoshelter.com) and port (21) information. The Editor or Contributor needs this information in order to set up their outgoing FTP connection on their device (typically a digital camera).

4. Communicate the FTP settings to the Editors and/or Contributors
- This communication is typically done by SMS or email so that the the Editor or Contributor can refer back to the information.
5. Apply visibility and download access permission settings to the Gallery prior to the live event
- This will ensure the Admin/Editors and/or Invited Users receiving the files sent straight from the wireless device know how to access them as soon as each file finishes uploading to the Gallery.
- Keep in mind, files sent straight from a digital camera will typically be RAW and unedited.
